Recorded as the strongest storm the world has seen this year, with a category 5 super typhoon, winds exceeding 170mph, Typhoon Haiyan has left 37 provinces in the Philippines submerged in flood and thousand of families homeless.
Base on the initial assessment, Habitat for Humanity Philippines is in the works of extending help to 30,000 families who need shelter repair kits to re-build their damaged houses.
Super Typhoon Haiyan made 6 landfalls in the Central Philippines, first in Guiuan, Eastern Samar at 4:40 am yesterday. The sconnd one is in Tolosa, Leyte; third and forth landfalls in Cebu province, in Daang Bantayan and Bantayan Island, respectively. It's 5th landfall is recorded in Concepcion, Iloilo and the 6th and last landfall is in Palawan. As of this writing, Super Typhoon Haiyan is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility today, Saturday afternoon, November 9.
